2009 – 2016

At the time, few people had heard of Dropbox, a small file-sharing company and a recent graduate of Y-Combinator’s incubator program. Connery’s partnership began during Dropbox’s Series B financing from Sequoia. Connery provided thought leadership in the areas of HR, recruitment and executive coaching, initially brought on to help shape and build scalable recruitment processes that allowed the company to grow from 20 to 250 employees. As Dropbox continued to grow and mature, Connery developed the HR business partner function and played a key role in employee relations for over four years while also coaching principal executives such as Drew Houston (CEO), Arash, Sujay and Ramsey. Dropbox has scaled to more than 2,000 employees, and credits Connery for playing an instrumental role in their success.

"Nancy was the first HR presence at Dropbox and has been an important member of our team over the years. When we were starting off, we didn't even know what we didn't know about recruiting and HR. She got us going on everything from recruiting to benefits. She's also been a trusted advisor to me and my team on a wide range of issues. Dropbox would not be where it is today without Nancy and her team."
